ive wanting
to do street photography for
a very very long time..

but i was scared
of pulling out my digi cam
on the streets..
ive taken care of my digi cam for a
long time.

i thought that yesterday is the day.
my friend and i
thought of an urban adventure
going to 4 cities of metro manila
taking pictures of the street and city-scapes and the
urban plans of the mmda..

those pictures are part of my thesis to
redesign those public utilities..

so far in those 4 cities nothing bad happened
to us and our cameras..
i have taken a lot of useful pictures for my thesis,
scenery,
street photographs
and
of course happy memories, joking about stuffs and
pretending to be tourist.

i need to hurry home coz there was another problem back home
(no need to tell details)
so i was kinda not it the right attentive mind and i was not cautious of the surrounding, in my head i just gotta get back home..
and i was also excited about my pictures and thesis.


so

as on my way home..
just one last street to cross until home..
the stoplight went red-
the other line went green..
a
motorcycle went in front of me
and
*snap*
he has my digicam
hanging around my neck.
the drove on fast
and my camera was gone
at that is left was the empty lanyard.

i cant do anything about it
i was about to cross the street and in the middle of the avenue
just one cross and im safe cause ill be home.


i bid my camera goodbye
its just a material thing.
i can be replaced someday.
atleast i was not hurt
(well, almost, i was in the middle of the street a car may pass by)


i got depressed
because of the files, pictures and videos
inside.
and my mom had worked very hard for me to have a camera.
were not that rich so its really hard work to avail those things.

and got depressed even more
that there really are bad people out there
and the fact that i got victimized
for my first time street photographing.


i dont have any camera with me now

no more street photography for me

id lost hope that my country there could be peace
